Would hate to see Vic leave but it will happen soon and 12m plus would be impossible to turn down. Ledley has probably been our best player over the whole season so vital he is kept. Looking forward to seeing our new bhoys in action, these CL qualifiers are coming up fast so good we are signing players early.

On the jerseys, the Nike store in Blanch has the away one (with the sponsor unfortunately) for €35 in case anyone is looking for one. A lot cheaper than the €60 that the online store are looking.

I was kind of hoping wed keep vic for at least one more year so will be upset of he does leave this transfer window as he's been my favourite player the past 1-2 years but I do agree that ledley has been our best!

Iv accepted Hooper is leaving although I wouldn't hold it against him he had a great time with the hoops and he deserves his chance in the EPL!

No move for big Vic yet:

£12m fee agreed apparently but obviously the wages are a problem. Still expect he'll go but maybe elsewhere. All clubs now know how much we'll sell for so I don't expect more than £12m.

Commons talking sense, another player who was outstanding last season. Glad to have him in the team.

That appears to be the case. I think Celtic might be slightly undervaluing him if they are accepting a 12 million bid. Hang around for a week or two and see if the Arsenal interest materialises, might get more then. If he does end up going to the likes of Soton for 12, there would want to be significant add ons involved.

I am the same myself hoping for Cliftonville, Sligo Rovers or The New Saints. Any of those 3 would make for a great draw which should be a lot of fun.

    Here we go lads....

    Tough draw for Sligo there.

    So Celtic play Cliftonville!!

Last thing needed was Celtic flying to the far corners of Europe for the qualifiers so I'm delighted with drawing Cliftonville.

Delighted with the draw. Sure both teams are happy.:)

Great draw, happy not to be travelling far and just as happy not to be drawn against a team half way through their league campaign.

Whats the odds of having it at Casement Pk?:pac:

The 2nd leg is in Solitude, capacity 2,883, according to wiki. Will they play that 2nd leg somewhere else.

Good shout, that would be the right spot for it.

Really hope its not a Windsor, security nightmare and give them 15% just wouldn't sit right.

    But it's a great draw:D

More chance of it being on in the Aviva than at Windsor Park

    EDIT

STV are suggesting that Windsor Park will have to be used. This will get interesting...

Cliftonville v Celtic confirmed for Solitude 16th/17th July, 1st leg switched

CELTIC were paired with Cliftonville in yesterday´s draw for the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.

The first leg of the tie was scheduled for Celtic Park on July 16/17, with the return match taking place a week later in Belfast on July 23/34.

However, at the request of Cliftonville, there is a possibility of the matchdays for the tie being swapped.

Both clubs are looking into this at the moment and are awaiting a decision from UEFA.

Celtic would reiterate that supporters make no travel arrangements until these details have been finalised.

I wonder why Cliftonville are so keen to swap

Maybe they think the tie will be over after the 1st leg as a contest and that would take the shine off the home leg if the Solitude match was the 2nd leg.

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8791621/Celtic-star-Victor-Wanyama-is-waiting-to-open-talks-with-Cardiff-City
"We are not in talks with Southampton and have not been since their final offer of terms, which was more than two weeks ago," his agent Ivan Modia told Sky Sports.

"The news of the fee being agreed may just be coming out now but we see little sense in a fee being agreed if there is no reasonable prospect of the player's terms being met.

"To suggest we are talking with Southampton is totally false, their offer was way below Victor's expectations. There is no chance of him signing the deal on offer and, in fact, both Celtic and Southampton were informed of this some time ago.

"The player will not be forced into a corner to accept the Southampton deal, just because it is good for Celtic. Remember, he has been with the club for two years now - without a pay rise - and has given them wonderful service ever since he arrived.

"Added to this is the fact that by Celtic refusing him permission to join Queens Park Rangers last summer, Victor lost more than £1m in potential salary earnings - yet he just kept his mouth shut and continued to be a model professional. Many other players may not have adopted this attitude, in the circumstances."

Modia confirmed there was interest from elsewhere, adding: "We know there is interest from elsewhere and Victor is obviously open to those prospects - he is currently back in Kenya and hopes that Celtic will adopt a more reasonable approach and take into account the service that he has given the club so far and the rest of these issues.

"Nobody at Celtic can question his attitude and he is hopeful he can leave on good terms with the club. He loves the club and its fans, he's played his heart out for the jersey....but he didn't quite expect that it may end like this."

He was offered a pay rise and it was turned it down. These agents forget that it is Celtic that improved him and gave him the platform to attract the 'interest'. The idea of honoring, even respecting current contracts, is lost on these people. His agents come across as people that the game would be better off without, those selfish comments have annoyed me tbh.

That reads like a load of ould guff from the agent. A player is worth the wages a club is prepared to offer and he's complaining that two clubs are not meeting Wanyama's wage demands, does he not see that he's undermining his own guff with that comment. What does he mean by "but he didn't quite expect that it may end like this." If an EPL club wants Victor Wanyama, they are going to have to pay for him, what is he blathering about. I think Celtic should hold out for more than 12 million especially if a club like Arsenal show real interest, and who leaked the info out that Celtic agreed to a fee of 12 million anyway? The agent sounds like an unprofessional gobshte.

I think if the games stay as is then it won't be on tv, but move to the other date and it will be shown. I think :o
