Does anyone know when the list of allocated rooms is issued?

I applied as well and heard nothing. Bit rich of them to charge an administration fee and then not let people know whether or not they have it. Also thought it was coming out on the 12 June because of some issue about property tax.

Yeah, they said that was what caused the delay and that they expected to release them mid-June, if I remember correctly, so it should be any day now.

They have already released them. It's that list you posted. Do you know how many places are available on campus in total?

I have no idea I'm afraid, sorry. That list is the first round, and it also doesn't include scholars - don't know about society people.

Is the accommodation for Trinity pricey?

This is the reply I received, so the outcome of the application should be known by 22nd July

    Hi Claudia,

The review of PG room applications will begin on 8th July. It is expected that rooms will be offered by 22nd July; unsuccessful students will be notified by email immediately.

    Regards,
    Linda

So have they only allocated the undergrad rooms? From what I got told on the phone I was left with the impression that everything was done and finished.

Really? Well I have no idea then! I am a postgraduate student, and I got told that Trinity Halls are no longer reserved for Postgraduate students, but now they will end up living in the Campus. This was the previous email:

    Hi Claudia,

Postgraduate students will not be housed in Trinity Hall for the coming academic year.

It is hoped that campus rooms will be allocated to postgraduate students in July; the process has been delayed this year due to the introduction of new IT systems.

We will be in touch with you again in due course.

    Regards,

    Linda

that interesting. not sure whether to wait or not now as I have started to look for accommodation in Dublin. Does anyone know how many places in total are there?

I would like to know as well. My plan is to wait until the 22nd july when they seemingly make a decision, and then start to look for a place on my own. Is daft.ie the only option to look for a place? Although I reckon it is still a bit early

I think it is where most look. I have been surprised how many places are already going. When I read about open evenings for rooms in apartments I got the shivers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36 wklize

Open evenings? What's that? I have found no rooms but that's maybe cause I don't know how to look for them lol. I selected like places available to move in from september and there was nothing lol

i think leave the move in date field blank.
or maybe we could start pressuring the accomm office into giving the places out sooner. seems a bit ridiculous to have to wait nearly a month when they have all the forms. im sure if they spent a couple of days on it they would fly through it!
do you know how mnay places are up for offer on campus?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36 wklize

I don't know that unfortunately :(, if they rejected my application I will have to start to look for a place. I am coming to visit Dublin August and just for a couple of days, I guess I should sort everything out when I am over there. Bit tricky indeed :/

I'm an undergrad student, my number was on the list but I haven't been offered a room by email yet (or at all really, apart from my number being on the list...)

Has anyone else been allocated a room yet? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36 wklize

Well maybe you should try to contact them! My number is not even on the list I am starting to lose hopes lol

I haven't heard of any of my friends getting offers yet though, I'll probably contact them next week if I haven't heard anything at that stage!

Are you on the waiting list? :)

I spoke to Accommodation a few days ago to find out when I might hear about Trinity Hall and was also told that PG students would not be allocated a room there and would be passed back to campus. When I then spoke to someone about getting a room on campus, one person told me that they thought it was a possibility... but passed me on to somebody else, who is apparently the font of all knowledge on accommodation at TCD, who told me that less than 1% of PG students who apply get a place in campus accommodation. She also said that given that English is my first language, even though I'm from overseas, that my chances of getting a room are slim to none.

I believe there are around 300-350 places on campus, but these are split between all the scholars and society people who get rooms... and she also mentioned something about how my chances were worse because they are renovating two (or more) buildings so these aren't being given out making the number of PG students getting a place that much slimmer...

I've started to look, but I'm not having much luck... Think I'm going to have to arrange a trip over to Ireland before September to get something sorted. I just wish we had been told that Trinity Hall weren't going to offer places back when I applied... I wouldn't have bothered, and could probably have arranged something else!

That is so irritating. I was kind of counting on the campus accommodation. Must be some kind of reverse discrimination not to allow you in for speaking English! I have been offered a room at 650 per month with a deposit of 650. I don't want to hand that over yet if I am going to be offered campus in less than a month.

Received my confirmation today as well!

I'm an American coming to study Medicine- perhaps I received an early acceptance because I'm an international student?

    Scholar here, haven't heard anything...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36 wklize

Oh dear, I haven't heard anything yet. The chances that less than 1% PG students getting a place is rather shocking! I was expecting trinity college to be more organised. I hope I will hear from them soon, because otherwise I will need to find another way to get a place, which I suppose is only daft.ie.

Though I haven't seen many places on there either :( I am starting to worry
