Meta thread. Give me a few words to help introduce people to after hours

Well I'm never quite sure why I'm here. That sums it up for me.

So I suppose, it would be:

AH: you're never quite sure why you're here.

You know that feeling when you have just let loose with a fart that you have been forced to hold in for ages, and when you finally let it go there's that very specific moment when you fear that you might have gone too far and accidentally shat yourself, in an instant where ignorance, catharsis, bliss, apathy, paranoia, release, foulness, and relief are all combined in a single, fleeting flicker of complete and utter awareness of your own being, where good and evil are in the past and the future, the chain of events that led you here irrelevant and the consequences unknown, while time stands still and the world around you ceases to exist as do the people who populate it, you are alone, individual, for the briefest moments of time before the universe comes crashing down upon you, leaving you breathless, exhausted, and tinged slightly with the smell of your own sh!t.

That. That's what After Hours is.

It's a pub conversation internet forum. Barring when a scuffle breaks out, it doesn't need to be tightly babysat.

I read other forums on here, some serious, some less serious, and none of them seem to fret about their "identity" more than this one. It's a great forum, just leave it be and stop over thinking it?

AH seems to think it's a thing. It's not. It has all sorts, ranging from the wittiest to the downright retarded. It's usually boring.
It has to follow all the rules of the other forums, although the regular posters seem to think they're bandits. And cool.
They're not. Moderators will ban them if they step out of line and they know it. There are even banned phrases ffs!!

So to any newcomers, AH is good for a laugh, but don't feel intimidated. It's normal enough. In fact, it's just normal. And possibly over-hyped.
A bit like Damien Duff back in the day. But that's another story...

After Hours:

You know if you are having a few beers with mates, it's all fun and chat, then the silly chat comes..

Then the plan for the new invention, business, game, stalking plan etc. comes up for discussion..

Then the politics, religion, deep meaningful thoughts, meaning of life..

Some people leave, go to sleep, go to snog, shag, shop etc..

Well you know the way there's always two or three still talking gibberish at 5am in the kitchen? Yeah, it's a bit like that too!

So yeah, that's After Hours..
