Dunno if they are on Sky but on Freesat 980 and 981 what are effectively red button channels are now being broadcast, the former is in HD and currently showing a place card. Two more (I think) are in the works. No idea if they are permanent.

6390 is Red Button 1 - RB 2 & 3 are as per my original email - showing a calming picture of the sea with a BBC logo in the top left hand corner

    11023 H 23000 2/3 label 8900 was not included.
    10773 H 22000 5/6 label 6390 was included by me for completeness.

    Just what I was thinking.

Remember the 24 HD channels they had for the Olympics, glorious times :D

SKY pull plug on BBCs "red button" HD channel, if you have been wondering why 980 is blank on Freesat, it seems there is a dispute

    from BBC blogs
As @DragonQ and @Bargain dave point out, sadly, BBC Red Button HD is not currently available to Freesat viewers either. I hope you'll understand if I don't go into detail on ongoing conversations about listing on Sky except to say that we're working with Sky on both matters. I can confirm that Red Button HD remains available on Freeview HD at channel 303 and Virgin Media at channel 994.

Can someone explain how Sky can pull the plug on BBC owned channels?

SKY is the gatekeeper to the UK/Ireland satellite transmissions.

Looks like its sorted for Freesat viewers, but not SKY subscribers who will not have the additional HD channel.

Is it? No service for me yet.

    Edit: It seems it is.

Only one extra red button stream on Sky for Wimbledon but 2 for Freeview as well as red button HD which is not on Sky.
