Ebay knowing quiet periods etc.

Hi i have setup on ebay for two months and have done well but last week i didnt have one sale and i was worrying. I have been trying to research online is there any statistics on when sales slowdown etc. i know it depends on the stock your selling (mine is menswear) but cant seem to find any info online.

anybody who sells on ebay have any advice.

I have found when the sun comes out the sales go down.

OP, do you work is retail also? There are peek and low sales week through out the year and for the most part online follows this, not sure if Ebay also follows this but def weather is a factor.

We have a sales and events tracker set up on a system like excel and it decides the weeks that promotions happen in the following year.

thanks for the replies. ye i have been told the summer months slow down i have my shorts etc in stock now so hopefully people realise they are not kitted out for this weather. ha.

I do online only. i know it would be great to be able to have history to look back on. Thanks for the info on promotions at these times. I will try something like that.

All so keep a diary of what's on sale on you competitors stores. Depending on your place on the market you should be about 4 Weeks ahead of the high street.

It may not be always fair to blame eBay for a downturn in your sales .

You , the seller will need to be pro-active in your marketing strategy .

You will need to activate your own SEO system . ( thats search engine optimisation )

You will need to let potential buyers know about what you sell.

Use eBay marketing tools .- Use html - Link your eBay sales to various social media networks .

Be competitive , - reduce your profit margin to increase volume .
