Hi my immersion switch wont turn off and the switch is hot to touch, ive tried switching off at the mains (to cool the switch) and it still wont go off. Any ideas what could have caused it and how to fix.

Sounds like a loose connection in the switch that has fused it on. Turn of the correct MCB and have a peep at it or get a sparks to have a look at it.

Is the switch marked immersion on distribution board not turning off at all , its possible the contacts may have welded on the immersion switch

I switched off the one marked immersion and it turned off all the sockets.! I switched it to sink only and the switch seems to have cooled but still can't turn off. will get a sparks to have a look.

It's probably labelled incorrectly. Did you try the other MCB's ?
