Same here. Do PERSONAL WRITING first when you get the paper, and only spend max 50minutes on it. Just try your best, you don't need to write alot, you just need to write good :). I might even cut 1 or 2 paragraphs off my essay because I think i'd run outa time (passing the 50min rule) if I write the whole thing .

Seeing as you're good at english you probably won't need 30 minutes for functional writing so you might save time there. 1 hour for personal, 30 minutes for the others

Eah, I don't think i'll need 1hr for personal. I plan to finish the exam 20mins early, so I can read the entire thing.

At least one character in detail, a key scene and a key relationship.

Yo, Arnie, I know the court scene, Atticus and Atticus/Scout relationship for to kill a mockingbird. That's to say: A scene, a character and a relationship, so is that good for fiction too?

Uhm, yea. I suggest more detail in character though, a question like this could come up "Identify a character that you like in a novel you have studied" or "Identify a hero/heroine in a novel you have studied." I suggest knowing good and bad things about a character, and know 5-6 quotes about the character. I have a scene where my main character kills someone .. in great detail too, so I have like two quotes on just that one scene. Relationship with someone is also important, it can be friends/family/love/hate.

Yeah, I have Atticus. Thing is... Atticus has no bad points.

Well, it's WHAT YOU THINK. So you could just say you think it was bad (even though it wasn't bad theroically) .. blahblahblah. It's opinion, no right or wrong answer. :)

I suppose you could argue he's a bit naive, thinking it will all be OK and good will win over evil.

I suppose, but it feels a bit spoofy. Still, it's like the only thing he has going for him negatively. I'll use it.

Anyone know what good characteristics Romeo has? All I have is that he's brave and noble.

For Romeo and Juliet know the following:
    Character of Romeo
    Character of Juliet
Two characters in conflict (Juliet and Lady Capulet)
Opening scene (Came up last year so I wouldn't worry too much about it)
Ending scene (Good chance it could come up this year)

Fro To Kill A Mockingbird know the following:
    Setting
    Character that changes
    Character you admired
Deserves an award (Just talk about theme, characters, setting etc.)
    Theme (Prejudice)
    Conflict of good vs evil
    Start of novel
    End of novel

    Negative Trait:

    - Atticus's flaw is his naivety; he always sees the good in people, trying to see from their perspective, but sometimes he is not realistic. (He's an idealist.) This is evident when he underestimates the threat of Bob Ewell.

You could say he was originally very impetuous but became very mature.

Okay thanks. But for conflict I find that it's easier to write about Romeo and Tybalt.

Personal preference of course but I have a solid 2-3 A4s prepare for Juliet and Lady Capulet so i'm sticking with that
