Wooing Girls with Stamps?

I find it difficult to meet women. My only hobby is stamp collecting. It's a large and quite valuable collection. I have a small business. I do OK. Why are women's expectations of men based on fast cars and other trappings of materialism. Do women not look for men of a deeper nature?

    Deeper pockets maybe...

I was out one night in a pub with a group of friends when this guy tries to chat up 1 of the girls in our group. He actually seemed sound enough until he pulled out a wee pouch from inside his coat, and took out stones from it, and started explaining to our friend the power of these stones.

Needless to say him and his little pouch were politely told to move on... Weirdo...

Bring your stamps to some hippy festival and tell everyone they're blotters.

The problem is that the women you are attracted to (women that like money, fast cars) are not attracted to you. Why be so superficial? People need things in common in a relationship. And blaming all women because the ones you like are not attracted to you, is a bit of a social cul-de-sac.

Figure out the type of women that may be attracted to you, on your qualities. If a women (or anyone, for that matter) is initially attracted to fast cars and money, that is no different to a man who is initially attracted to big knockers and a rocking beach body.

I would personally find a stamp collector more interesting than a guy with no personality and a flashy car. When I meet someone I have no interest in material things I want to have intelligent, interesting conversation. Being friend-zoned is not just exclusive to men.

I'm afraid philately will get you no where, OP.

    Sorry.

    Is stamp collecting deep?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Assure them that these stamps used to be the property of stamp-nerd who you beat up and robbed.
If life has taught me anything its that women only respect violent men who DO beat up others and possibly will beat her.

Nope. We only have an interest in fast cars/material trappings, all of us. And yes, as that person says above: violence.

Seriously though, nothing wrong with stamp collecting. Why assume that's the only thing that prevents you from getting together with women? Nothing at all wrong with your description of yourself... except you've omitted one possibly important factor: your personality.

The OP only mentions stamp collecting and running a small business.

There's nothing wrong with these but neither seem particularly relevant in the opening stages of the dating game.

Do you at least make an attempt to look like you take care of yourself? And do you at least make an attempt to come across as interesting?

If you can't do both of those then your relationships will never progress to the stage where your hobbies or career are even remotely relevant to the lady-person.

Maybe try licking the wrong side of the stamp

Why do boring ****s always go on like guys with flashy cars are boring and bland. Maybe you're just no fun to be around op

Spare yourself the heartache OP. You'll only be attracting tramps with those stamps

This is that whole "women only like assholes" complex that some men seem to believe is true. Women like assholes because assholes are proactive and do fun ****, they also like nice guys, if they go out and do fun ****. The reason the quiet stamp collectors are mostly left wimmenless is because they sit begrudging people in fast cars actually doing fun ****. Fun **** is the key to fun, and ****

Agreed. OP, you need something more base, more animal, than these.

I doesn't have to be a fast car, but knowing a guy is wealthy enough to be a good provider will never hurt his chances.
Also, hit the gym. If you haven't got the cash to flash as per above then at least show her you have the genes.
Learn to cook. Take classes. Irish (guys and girls) suck at cooking, but like all amimals we appreciate good food, and will hang about for more.

Fun has been mentioned a lot, and I concur, though it's a trickier concept to work on improving. Try the above first.

By any chance do you own a Penny Black? Harder to acquire that one than a fast car! It's sure to impress a few chicks by value alone.

Seriously though, where do you meet women OP? Do you try to approach them at all? Could be a case of just swallowing your pride and getting out of your comfort zone. Will probably get you a woman quicker than buying a fast car will

Probably just unlucky op, there are very few ladies that don't get damp at the mentioned of a stamp hobbyist!
