The PS3 was the biggest waste of cash I ever spent if I'm being honest. I got it pretty quick, and think I played all of about 5 games on it. It's pretty much a Netflix machine now, and Xbox could even do that if I wasn't scared of playing round with DNS settings.

Xbox have had the more impressive decade for me up to now, and have built a level of trust in me. Furthmore, a lot of the complaints people are having about its reveal and details (always online, no second hand, etc) aren't things that bother me in the slightest.

Really? I'm completely the opposite. When people ask why I have both an Xbox and a PS3, I say I bought the Xbox for online games (Call of Duty, Fifa) and I use the PS3 for single-player games (or single-player games with a multiplayer mode). But over the years, I'm using the Xbox less and less, and getting pretty much all non-exclusive games on PS3. PS3 I use for gaming, UK Netflix, dvds, Blurays and stuff on my external HDD. Xbox I only use now for US Netflix and Fifa (because friends have it on Xbox).

Maybe it's because I don't play online too often anyway (though I've never really had a problem with PSN online). And I find it far easier to purchase things online than with XBL. But for me I'm hands-down a PS3 guy, and the stuff revealed about the XboxOne do concern me to the point where I probably just won't bother with it at all, and will just stick to the PS4.

Tbh, I can completely see why people would choose PS over Xbox. It's just not the way I went.

When games came out on both, I got them on Xbox. I preferred XBL to PSN. I prefered the Xbox controller to the PS3 one. I preferred achievements to....well, for most of the time, Sony didn't have anything to compete there. As far as exclusive games go, the likes of Halo always held mroe sway with me than the likes of Resistance.

It's not that I'd ever slate the PS3 or it's fans. It was just as the years rolled by, I found myself using the Xbox more and more, and the PS3 less and less.

Some of the Xbox exclusives are stellar and definitely outshine a lot of the PS3 ones. I had a 360 for about a year before it RROD'd and didn't get another one for about 2 years after that, but games like the Gears of War series and Crackdown 1 were brilliant. I suppose it was just a case for most people when there were fewer exclusives, everyone just went one way or the other.

PSN being free was probably a big factor in my decision. As I didn't go online a lot, I just couldn't justify paying for XBL. That and the changes to the 360 dashboard essentially showing me a lot of stuff I don't want or can't use and making it harder to find stuff I want.

Neither the PS4 or XB1 terribly excite me though. The Share function and ability to record gameplay on PS4 worries me slightly because it's going to make it even harder to find actual good videos on Youtube and the like.

I never really liked the Gears of War series. The only games that had much of a chance of swaying me to the xbox were the Left 4 Dead games, and I had both on PC so that was a bit moot.

The PS exclusives were better for me. Killzone (admittedly I liked the first game on the PS2 the most), God of War, Ratchet and Clank (cannot understate how much I love these games). Even older series that began to suck when the developers changed like Spyro or Crash Bandicoot contributed to a bit of brand loyalty I suppose.

...dang it, now I really wanna play Spyro 3.

Uncharted and Infamous as well are top quality Ps3 games,Not a fan of Halo or Alan Wake,Gears is good though,Have both so it's nice to be able to play all the big releases,Will probably get the ps4 and the Xbox later down the line I'm a sucker for tech stuff

Ah bugger, forgot to mention inFamous. I never really got into the Uncharted series though. I hated the Halo games from what I've played.

For 360 I liked Alan Wake, Forza, Gears 1-3, Viva Pinata, Halo & Crackdown but a lot of them came early into the 360`s lifetime & sequels just got released too often. I`d love to see MS make a proper platformer with Banjo Kazooie & not one with him driving or some other crap gimmick.
Sony`s then I never got into Ratchet & Clank or Sly Raccoon then the likes of Killzone & Resistance were if i`m honest good games but never great. I liked Heavy Rain but its writing was weak for a such a story driven title, MGS is now as good as multiplatform, LBP was good fun but you kinda rely on others to make it fun for you. Really do enjoy the Uncharted games & what little I played of InFamous was okayish.
I enjoy the 3rd party games a lot more than exclusives stuff like Tomb Raider released this year was top class & the Batman games I replay over & over. The only problem with them is the likes of Assassins Creed, Dead Space and Mass Effect do need a 2 or even 3 year break if i`m honest.
I don`t think I bought one exclusive for around a year the likes of LBP Kartz & Fable The Franchise Killer Journey were slim enough pickings.

By comparison, Nintendo's exclusives are very weak for me, there's only been one exclusive they have that I will play, the Pokémon series. Never liked Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or any other game synonymous with the Nintendo name.

I agree with your point about the sequels GTR, the rate some series push out sequels like the AC series is damaging the product more than helping it.

I`ve been playing the Creed titles to get them out of my backlog I liked Revelations but am despising Brotherhood it just seems to be a long trial of Auto Fail levels OH the Guard spotted you RESTART, they heard you kill that Guard RESTART, Hey you there walking what are you doing RES..turn off xbox. Don`t even get me started on ACIII I hate that game so much
I do like Nintys exclusives maybe its cause I`m just used to Zelda`s or Mario Kart but I only actually have Nintendo handhelds which are just awesome stuff like Ace Attorney & Hotel Dusk are fantastic & the Pokemon games are the guiltiest pleasures. :o

What has become of Kane N Nite? Just checked his profile and he has not posted in over 10 months.

Pretty sure someone here knows him. Or did any of the WM travellers meet him this time round?

Or maybe he found a woman? I know its unusual for a wrestling fan and all, but a possibility? :P

Wondering what I should do about pre-ordering an Xbox. I want one on launch day. But don't want to do a "queue at midnight" thing. I worry online pre-orders won't come on launch day. Reckon I'm safe pre-ordering one and just going in on launch morning? The "First come, first serve" thing has me worried...

Going by online reaction its only the fanboys who are getting the VCR Xbox One. Everyone else is leaning towards PS4.

Wait Mark Hughes got the Stoke job, thats some laugh he did such a crap job at QPR i'm amazed his name still carries any weight. Don't give him a cent to spend anyway whatever you do. Suprised Pulis and them broke up lets hope they don't think they can just wing it and start playing on the ground from now on. Maybe he'll join Woy to help them improve a bit on that part of their game.

QPR were just a mess of a side, yes he failed their but its doubtful even Ferguson could have saved them.he did quite well at Blackburn and Fulham previously so no reason to write him of at Stoke where he will have good players to work with.

I do agree though about his transfers, some of them have been very strange.

Bar QPR he's always done a decent enough job imo.

Delighted to be such heavy underdogs. Suits us far better than being favourites. Between retirements, players moving abroad the panel us stretched to the max. My big concern is the forwards are very lightweight. Some very skilful lads but Davy will have Clare bulked up to the eyeballs. Davy himself is their biggest liability. All noise and bluster but no hurling brain.

Think we could surprise a few people on Sunday. Watch out for Jamie Barron corner forward. If he gets good service he'll score well. Waterford @7/4 us severely tasty.
