    Who knows what the back-story is. I bet there's another tragedy behind what happened, not that it makes it any better.

    But.. But..

    This baby was rescued and as far as I know is doing ok in hospital..

    Unfortunately many other babies probably suffer this fate, never to be heard about.

    Isn't this just a failed late abortion? Maybe the mother was suicidal?

    Was on sky news just now too. Said its nearly impossible for a single mother to get a child registered as a citizen. Its unclear whether she deliberately tried to flush it or was unaware she was actually in labour (maybe some ladies can clarify if this is possible?). Either way, horrible story
