Buying tickets on irishrail.ie

    If I book a train ticket on irishral.ie with a credit card, will I need to present or show the card to get the ticket, or will I get a confirmation code or something to get the ticket?

    tl;dr version, can I buy tickets online, with someone elses card?

    You can normally collect it with just the booking number + code number. However, they reserve the right to ask for the card.

    All you need is the reference number to print off your ticket. If for some reason it didnt print then you can ask at one of the main stations and they can print it off for you but you will be asked for proof of id. Same goes if you havent got your Ref number.
