I got a shed built last year but have noticed today a crack about 4 feet long in the mortar section I can see day light coming through, can I chip away the old mortar and mix up a cement and sand mix and push it into the crack and will it be ok, the crack is very small but worried.

Is the crack horizontal or vertical? Middle or end of wall? Running away from a window/door? If it's horizontal, how high off the foundation?

Sounds like a foundation problem..or could be the block work is not properly tied in ?. Might be worth getting a Brickie to look at it.

looks like the foundation is ok, would it be the way the mix was done , and can I sort it out sorry about all the questions also as I said can I do a little sand and cement mix and add it to the wall.

I've seen similar repairs done by raking out the old mortar/sand and the new mix put back in the joints using a type of Icing bag. Sounds weird but it actually works better than a pointing trowel. It's gotta be a pretty wet mix but the "icing bag" covers every gap until it squeezes out the other side.
