    Hi on my 05 E65 the screen has been flickering off/rebooting for years. When I changed the battery i did not work for about a month then one day came back on.

    Did you get the new battery registered by the car's ECU? Otherwise the life span of your new battery may be shortened if not.

    No I did not I just got it fitted by Halfords. That explains the recharge battery message thank you very much for that.

    I sell batteries for BMW/register them.
    When did you get that battery changed?

    Have you heard of anything like this....

    Happened about 2mths ago... on my 2008 E92 Business w/ Nav (Build date was Jan '08) the iDrive controller works fine NSEW but i cant select anything when i press down, the knob seems fine but its just not reading on the screen. (although over the summer if the interior was hot it would start working again)

    Any help would be great, as dealerships are quoting around €350 + €85 diag for a new controller unit.

    I replaced an idrive controller today it would not click/press down either. Turns out it was faulty.
    Replaced with a used one and all good now.
