Yeah the OH was stopped last week and told the guard that she was going to get it taxed had the forms and all in the car he rang his mate in the station to say she was on the way in to get it signed to stay until she got there. They are only in the station for 2 hrs a day now.

Off topic,but---what's going on. I'm farming in France and have a large amount of surplus fodder. I read this thread daily to keep up things at home. So I think to myself contact Co-ops and make them aware of what I've available. No real interest. Answer I get is send it into us and we'll sell it for you. Now I'm not a merchant and into organizing transport etc. so why so little interest?? Answers on a postage stamp........!!
Btw on a bit early here but an hour ahead.
I fear the IFA are busier talking about it and accusing the government of doing nothing than actually looking after their membership.

I'm guessing they are mostly looking for large quantities, I think the Glanbia UK maize deal was something like a 3000T pit of maize.

Got a leaflet in post today.

They are claiming credit for good beef price and good milk price.

Milk price in Glanbia is 7 cents a litre below market returns. That doesent seem to bother them.

had an aa cow with tetany this morning, they are on an outfarm 1.5 miles away, mad dash to get magnessium, gave her 2 bottles under the skin and 1 calcium in, the vein... have her sitting up. Rang vet they said there would be nothing they could do if they came out, said to give her another calcium. she is still fitting although not as bad and not frothing at mouth anymore, vet said its a wait and see to see what brain damage has been done.... must have been over the road 10 times this morning... they have plenty of mineral buckets with them

Ha, some cheek, given that most dairyfarmers have mealbills of thousands raked up 36cent does not in anyway feel like a good milk price.

Hmm yeh read that, they can sugercoat it whatever way they want I don't care, its still basically 36c base price isn't it? Or where does the 1cent come in, before or after vat/levies etc? Obvious I'd be extremely pissed if they dropped it as quick next month to 35 though....

Is there anything we can realitically do about this failure to pay for our milk.

Who do we lobby for an increase.

In my estimation its 6 to 7 cents behind market levels. Does anybody have any concrete figures on what market is returing. Or what they feel price should be.

I'd say its delay tactics, next month they'll be gloating about rising it from 35 to 36! No way they could keep it at 35,and be at least 2cent off kerry etc. Or could they...

Fully agreed that something needs to be done to put them under pressure to increase it, the obvious suggestion would go ask your IFA rep to help lobby for an increase... Oh wait, they think its good as is!
