I think the granting of the freedom of the City of Cork to Cha & Mia, and Billa demeanes the honour.
I'd like to know the view of others on this.

I only know cha and Mia from the statues, I know they had a program but in a very different time to when I grew up. But even so I'd rate them highly as corkonians, the freedom of the city should be given to them, they were representatives of Cork. As for Billa, I've no idea who that is.

i'd say they mean Billa O'Connell,

Themselves and Paddy Comerford were well known entertainers in the panto and summer revels. Prefer seeing people like that who were part of the citys life for so long being honoured rather than visitors/outsiders for a politician to be photographed with to be honest. Good move and well deserved.

I think the honour was demeaned when they gave it to John Major (and that's speaking as a Brit living in Cork!) - I'd much rather see the likes of Cha & Mia get it..
