    Hi,

I have a Dell precision 690 workstation with a Maxtor ATLAS 10K5_073SAS SCSI Hard Drive.

Can I add a SATA hard drive to this configuration? I'm a bit rusty on my hardware.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks

Yes if your PSU has a SATA Power Connector and that your Motherboard has a Sata Slot for the Cable..

by reading that your Computer has a SCSI hard Drive. this is telling me your compute is a few years old. and may not have the Sata requirements

Is it possible to add an adapter to take SATA

Yes you could buy a Converter board.

One that you plug in your PSU power Cable into and your IDE cable and from their you plug in your SATA power cable etc. and it should pick up.

wouldnt it not be easier to buy a SATA to USB docking Station ?
