Do you have any phobias/irrational fears?

I have an irrational fear of moths.

I scream like a banshee if I see one in my house and I won't sleep in the bedroom if I know there's one lurking.

Spiders don't really freak me out, unless they're swinging on their cobwebs hovering over my gob as I lay in bed, big googly eyes fluttering their lashes at me.

    What's your phobia or fear?

Not mine, but I knew someone who would freak out at the sight of a banana. We never figured it out but the two best explanations were either a bad sexual experience or the reaction of an Atheist in the face of an indisputable truth. We never found out which.

I am terrified of the dentist.
So much so, that the mere thought of having to make a visit to the dentist turns the contents of my stomach to instant arse gravy.

Spiders... absolutely freak me the fúck out. I'm beyond terrified of them. I've held scorpions, snakes, lizards... not a bother.

Spiders tho... No... Just... No. horrible, creepy, crawling, slithering awful things.

I have a terrible fear of snakes. That's why I live in Ireland.
The only reason! Thank you Saint Patrick

Was once hit in the knee by a stone from a lawnmower and seen in coming all the way, age young, maybe 11 or 12.

    I don't like lawnmowers. :/

Fecking spiders, I used to be a fearless bast*rd when it came to spiders when I was around 8.

Then I remember when I was 12 overhearing my auntie telling my mam about a friend of hers who went to the doctor because she had sort of a blockage in her ear after waking up one morning. The doctor gave her some eardrops and told her to come back in a week if it was still there. She woke up one night because she felt like she had pins and needles in her face, but in fact it was dozens of baby spiders that had just hatched out of the egg in her ear.

That story is the reason for my fear of spiders, and why I check the room before I sleep.

I've only met the one, and unless our ancestors were hunted by an unusually mobile form of the fruit I don't think it's going to be a more common phobia than, say, spiders. ;)

I'm not scared of heights, but I'm scared sh1tless of being able to see through what I'm standing on. Not just those glass floors on boats and at the top of tourist towers and stuff, but sets of stairs where you can see between the steps or where the steps have holes in them like railway bridges.
