I'll try to make a long story short. Had to make a couple of phone calls to Sky last week (also used the live chat) and they couldnt get me sorted. The last girl I spoke to said she would talk to someone else and call me back the following day but that was over a week ago and I never received a call back.

I got it going again last week but I dont know if that was me or something else had changed. All was going well until yesterday morning when the same happened again. I could receive emails but not send. To compound matters i then found that I couldnt get logged into my Sky account online. Rang in and after being told to reset my password I got logged in.

This meant that I had to go and change the passwords on the email accounts I use Incredimail for but in any event I still couldnt send any. Rang Sky again and tried a couple of things and finally the rep told me that Sky doesnt support Incredimail and they couldnt help me any further

Then just after midnight last night/this morning and out of the blue it was working again and its still working.

    I am completely baffled.

I just tried to log into my Sky account & had no problem.
I can also get into my Sky E mail account.

My problem is I can't send an e mail using my other accounts from Outlook.
I can send mail from my Sky account in Outlook but not any other account in Outlook.
I've checked the settings at my end & nothing has changed.
I'll give them a ring when I have a few hours to spare.

If its any help I had to use my sky email address when inserting details in the various email accounts in Incredimail.

    1. Under servers I have entered smtp.tools.sky.com for outgoing mail
    2. There is a box which I ticked that states "my server requires authentication"
    3. Beside that box there is a tab "more settings" and when I click on that another little box appears and I ticked "log on using"..... and then entered my full Sky email address and password and then clicked on "remember password"
    4. In Advanced under server port numbers I entered 465 for outgoing mail and ticked the box that says "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)"

I have used all those settings for the different email accounts and as stated earlier everything is working fine today

    Tried that but no go.
All my settings are like yours.
I think its something on the Sky end

When you log into the Sky web mail page have you added the email addresses there? Not sure if thats necessary or not but I did it

I think that's if you want to send or receive through your Sky e mail account.
I have that in my G Mail account but I don't want to do it with Sky.
Outlook worked fine up to recently & I never had any extra e mail accounts added in Sky/Yahoo Mail.
Maybe the problem occurred when Sky mail transferred to Yahoo ?

    Back to normal again.
Didn't do anything so it may have been something to do with the sky servers.

Yip! Mine is all going good again. The problem seemed to have lasted for one full day only.

Sorry to bump an old thread but it feels like many people suffer the same issue!

I cant work out what exactly the proboblem is because my eircom email account, through Outlook, receives emails sporadically (sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't) but its been a long time since I was able to send an eircom email from outlook.

    Sending eircom Emails:

I get some error message about being blacklised by spamhouse - I don't use emails for anything other then friends/family or signing yp to stuff so I don't know why it would be blacklisted. Also, I can send emails from eircom directly so its bullsh*t).

    Receving Eircom Emails:

This is a more concerning problem. If I got this fixed I wouldn't be as bothered with the sending issue. I have the usual mail1.eircom.net setting incoming and outgoing on outlook. Havent changed any other settings (including advanced settings). Since I moved to sky (earlier in the year), there has been sporadic downloads that appear to be getting gradually worse. I don't understand why it would work sometimes and not work other times!

Any tips or advice would be very helpful.

    Do you use a mac?

I was receiving my eircom emails grand on my mac till earlier this year and then all of a sudden, bang, no emails will come through at all. i checked the settings but all was ok. i reset it up again to make sure, still nothing!

i still getting my eircom emails to my phone, so not a total catastrophy, but mind you, my eircom email has become overrun lately with spam that i just can't get rid of, maybe 30 messages a day. it means some important stuff is slipping thorough the net
