To reduce the number of emails being sent to your email account we have decided on the following, thanks to a student’s recommendation.
If you find anything, please hand into main reception in the main building and we will contact the owner if we can.
Also, if you have lost something please call to main reception with your details and we will contact you if the item is found.
    Thank you.
    Regards

Didn't they send this exact email like two weeks ago? :pac:

Are you bitching or telling us about this?

Why are you bitching about it. Its a event in ul that has so far only sent one email.

Not bitching but seemed the easiest thread. Just wondering if the extended library times counts for the printing too? Don't want to walk all the way in to find I can't print!

Fee´s office are an absolute joke to reply to an email..

I´m waiting to be refunded €72 because I paid the fees twice by accident. twice now im after supplying proof of my grant and I´m after getting a third email again saying im 2000+ of over due payments to make.

I've heard from a few people now that they got an email same as mentioned above.
I never gave a letter to the fees office confirming I got a grant, but was never asked for a letter either.
See, there was a mix-up with my grant and I only received it recently. The college was made aware of this. So, I'm guessing they somehow found out about when I finally did get my grant, since they didn't ask me for a letter? Or do I still need to bring in a letter?
I never got one, so I'd have to request one from SUSI, which could take a while so best I get this sorted out ASAP.

    D.O.B:

    Mother's Maiden Name:

    Kind regards,

She was lovely to me when I was in there today. They did seem fairly hectic busy though.

Why bother having a noise policy if it's not enforced? Pointless.

Watched one of the security dudes look at a fella having the chats for a few minutes in a "silent" area before going to ask him to stop, he then went downstairs at which point the lad resumed his chat.

It's silly, if the policy is unenforceable then have fewer silent areas that you do enforce. If you go to ucd they have a silent area where laptops etc are banned, and if you make noise there the librocop will kick your ass out.

Otherwise you end up a situation where people feel comfortable having full phone conversations in the library. If I had my way such people would be bullwhipped.

Nope not from Spain, on co-op unfortunately.

But after they emailed me this evening about it and I replied, probably a bit harsher than I should have but I was annoyed, they apologised and said they got an email from the CC this morning confirming I get a grant and will refund the money.

I've been in the library since 8.15, the seat beside me has been saved by someone putting a copy on it!
They haven't been in the library since they put the copy on the desk!
WTF??? Why do people keep doing this! There's lots of other people wandering around looking for a place to sit!

Beckon the next person you see walking around looking for a seat over, and throw the copy on the floor.

    Seems a simple solution.

People keep doing it because they get away with it. In other universities the stuff would be cleared off the desk within an hour. I've only ever seen staff place warning notes on desks, never seen actual action being taken.

Don't throw it on the ground, hand it in as lost property. If some one slipped on it you'd be blamed.

Throw it on the ground. Under the desk. :P

Either way, just move it somewhere and let someone who's actually going to use it have the desk instead of someone who thinks they have a divine right to reserve a desk for the entire day.

If you know someone is doing that for more than 2 hours just take their stuff to an info desk, it's not fair on others.

Option 1: Be a dick like the person who left the book.

Option 2: Be a nice guy freeing up a seat, while still one uping book guy.

    Decisions, decisions
