Newbay Country House

Hi All, I was a poster here a couple of years ago but have since moved from Wexford. Looking to head back to the motherland and have heard Newbay was sold. Does anyone have any info on it? Is it going to re open as a hotel or is it a private residence now? Thanks, Sally

Yes, it closed a couple of years ago and lay empty. Now it's been bought by a Corkman who's a successful businessman in Oz and he's giving it a major restoration. He's not sure about reopening it for overnights but intends to have a restaurant and bar. There's an article about it in this week's (ie. last Tuesday's) edition of the Wexford People.
