Cheapest way to post a parcel to New Zealand

Hi all,

Thinking of sending a parcel to NZ unsure of weight but the main item will be his fave bottle of wine you can't get over there as well as as other goodies I can stuff in.

Any idea of where I can get the best value for this?

Customs will seize any alcohol and Duty will have to be paid on it.
An Post would probably be your best bet.

The only problem I ever had sending bottles of alcohol to NZ was when one went missing along with a 12 pack of taytos and as podge and rodge DVD from a parcel after NZ customs inspected it although I suspect that it was down to a hungry and thirsty employee as they left the second bottle alone

Its expensive to ship heavy glass bottles of liquid though and it would have to be very well packed and insulated to survive the journey. Just as long as you declare it as 'gift', an post won't know any different.

You might get it sent from australia or another nearby country cheaply too.

an post is the best value for parcels if its a decent weight.

Since last year they change the system where it used to be about €60 for 5kg + €5 for every kg over that.

Its now max €60 for up to 20kg.

Takes about 7-10 days to get there.

So make the parcel worth while - the extra weight won't cost extra for shipping.
