Saw this in Holland today , really clean and with a modern motor I think by the sound and acceleration. What years was this model produced 53 thru 56?

Some great pics there Blue 850.

I didnt get along. Seems to have been a good turnout overall as well as some cars that I have not seen in Durrow before.

Judging by the state of the tyres and wheels on some of the exhibits, it would appear that the problem of cow**** in that location was as bad as previous years. Pity really, as it does detract from the location as a venue for displaying classic and vintage cars.

    Great pics.
I agree about the location.....it's just a big square field (full of cows&£t).
I liked the original location beside Durrow Castle (house?)....though I understand the the show has probably 'outgrown' that location.

Nothing unfortunate about it, great car and a great reg. There was a time you could keep a GB number plate when you brought a car into IRL, if only we still could.

Untill about 1976, although there is many guys that seem to think you still can going by the amunt of UK reg stuff around.

Id love to see examples of IRL cars with GB regs (how sad am I) if anyone has any.

I taught you could only keep an Irish plate if going to the UK but not the other way round, that car has been in the country for a good few years but the owner never used it, more of an investment but its for sale now and I'd say that's why its doing the show circuit now.

1984 reg. I wonder what he's doing with late 80's lights, late 80's rear bumper, late 80's spoiler and I don't think that colour was around in 1984. Car would be worth more if kept "original".

Maybe he likes it that way, and doesn't care about the value?

Or maybe he did a deal with Shane?

I think that everything that was being taxed here on a UK plate had to change to an Irish number in the mid 70s, though i cant confirm this as i was sperm at the time and remember little of it.
IRL1, that famous Biscayne, is about the only crossover car i can think of of hand.
Im sure one of the reg freaks here will know of something.

Speculation or truth? It could have been painted?

I had a motorbike as a youngfellow with an ITI reg around 1969 so something wrong there, reg must be off a 60s motor and transferred, brother had an RS 2000 in the 80s with an old Kerry reg transferred, IN2000 which still lives in the limk.area as far as I know.

Just think how much Revenue/DoE could make if they sold 'cherished' plates -

This car has the genuine unique registration number 205 GTi
So why do the plates read GTI 205 :P:P

We're not in the UK so the 'lucky' buyer would have to trailer it to shows or get someone over here to tax it every year for him - tho those Brits seem to love their reg plates so MAYBE .......

MAYBE it includes the gaff for 10k
