Sorry, no (I've never seen it either!).

The face in that shot is a reflection in a window (he's watching them). It's not a fade between scenes.

The Private Affairs Of Bel Ami

    No.

The actress is the clue. I think this was her first film, but she's probably best remembered for a TV series now.

Here are some old ones I don't think anyone got yet

    1 mqdefault.jpg

    2 judgy.jpg

#1 is centred around a boys relationship with a dog (not his dog btw)

#2 is quite a creepy horror from the mid 80's.

Yeah, that's it. The 1944 version.

I initially thought this might be Microcosmos, but then I figured that was unlikely, so I'm going to say The City of Lost Children, as I think it's one of those shots that swiftly zooms right in.

2026 Gigs and Events: An Evening with The Fast Show, Prima Facie, Stereolab (NCH), David Byrne, Belle and Sebastian (x2), Sleeper, Paul Simon, Metallica (x2), Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Ben Folds

Yeah, that's right. It's from The City of Lost Children. I wasn't sure how easy or difficult that one would be.

Oh, and after many incorrect theories (which took me a while to verify as to whether they were right or wrong), I'm confident that the Gabriel Byrne one is Shade, the film about the poker players.

You're right!! I was going to use a shot of Stuart Townsend dealing cards, but thought this one would be more difficult. That's Jamie Foxx on the left.

Not sure about the film, but is that Tom Wilkinson's face in the window?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,028 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

I don't think these were got yet.
Another clue for #1: one of the main stars was posted by someone else here (in shot from a different film) within the last 3 days!

Some clues for the ones still left:

    1. A darkly comic crime film from the early 90's. The writer/director went on to receive acclaim for another movie later that decade which was similarly dark but humorous

    6. A bit of an obscure shot from a very well known 90's movie which had an all star cast - one of whom was the lead actor in movie 1 above!
