It is Hoosiers/Best Shot: double points for providing both titles!
It is Superman. Steve Kahan (whose cousin is Richard Donner) went on to play Captain Murphy in the Lethal Weapon films.

    Well done, both. :)

Correct. Brad really loved the skillful way Janet beat the other girls to the bride's bouquet. :D

That's exactly how I got it, recognized him as a more youthful looking Captain from the Lethal Weapon series! Never knew he was related to Donner.....still, I'm sure he got those roles on merit:cool:
But I always liked him as Capt. Murphy. You always got the sense he really wanted to be just like Riggs, but couldn't admit to it!

No, but I can see why you might think that. It's from a film released last year.

    6. Inner Space?

And slightly offtopic, is that an invisible woman at the right of the Rocky Horror pic(5)?

6 isn't Innerspace, I'm afraid: it's from a film released the following year.

I don't know anything about an invisible woman - the closest thing I can see is a woman who looks "beheaded" since her head is hidden behind the chapel sign in the foreground. If there were something more mysterious in the frame, there must be some reasonable explanation, like the urban legend about the ghost in Three Men and a Baby.

Ah the sign would explain it. Wasn't sure if it was in the foreground or background. Just see the clothes but no head and seemingly no hand holding the bouquet.

Some clues for the ones still left:

    1. A darkly comic crime film from the early 90's. The writer/director went on to receive acclaim for another movie later that decade which was similarly dark but humorous

    6. A bit of an obscure shot from a very well known 90's movie which had an all star cast - one of whom was the lead actor in movie 1 above!

    Clues:
3 is from an epic 1984 film. It appears on screen in 1968, but we have jumped from the previous scene, set in the 1930s.
6 is from a 1978 blockbuster. This guy is a cop whose partner is about to come to a sticky end.
7 is from a 1980 racing movie featuring an English pop star-turned-actor in the lead.

    7. Silver dream racer with David Essex. Nick Brimble on the left appeared several times in the original Sweeney.

    Dead right. Very well done.
Nick Brimble's CV is indeed extensive, especially on television. He is possibly best known on the big screen as Little John in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
As it happens, Richard LeParmentier, who died on Monday, is also briefly in Silver Dream Racer, but I hadn't heard of his passing when I posted the image.

1988 comedy drama. The wedding is in the protagonist's home town (or borough), but the film is predominantly set in New York City. The lead actress is the daughter of a Hitchcock heroine.
An actress playing a key supporting role was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress while also nominated for Best Actress for a different film the same year, but cruelly won neither.

    5. One of musics most dynamic artists was heavily involved in this.

    8. One of the stars of this was lost for awhile and his costar is an independent film maker who often documents his habit.

    11. Takeshi Kaneshiro is in this one.

    7. This is a drunken best man leaving a 1985 wedding, from a film released in 1998.
    8. This is from a 1993 film with a set of interweaving stories: there's a brief mix up at the photo booth when customers each get the wrong set of photographs.
    10. The tagline for this film was: "They killed his wife ten years ago. There's still time to save her".
