    Science says no more bras!
    Jean-Denis Rouillon, a sports medicine professor from Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Besancon in France, took on the weighty task of studying the effects of bras on women's breasts. After 15 years, he found that the garments do nothing to prevent breasts from sagging — and may even increase it.
    "Our first results confirm the hypothesis that the bra is a false need," Rouillon said, according to France Info.
    "Medically, physiologically, anatomically, the breast does not benefit from being deprived of gravity. Instead, it languishes with a bra."
    Wearing a bra inhibits the growth of breast tissue and contributes to poor posture and muscle tone, he said, adding that "the breast will gradually degrade."

    Makes sense I suppose, the natural ligaments that support the breast will obviously weaken if not used.

    Does this also apply to bikinis? That would be a downright shame what with summer only just around the corner and all.

    I feel bad for the guy. Researching for 15 years under the assumption that women buy bras to stop sagging.

    Reasons I wear a bra:
    Stops my nipples being visible
    Stops my boobs bouncing when I walk/run
    Keep them where I want them for aesthetic reasons (not a sagging thing but a while-it's-on thing)

    Breasts do not have any muscle. They are primarily fat with mith milk lobes and ducts. The muscles of the chest wall can be strengthened but will have very little effect on perkiness.

    The need for bras has never been appairent, but I have always found it impossible to keep abreast of ladies fashions. I wonder if ladies restrain their breasts for fear of schoolboy titters?
