Not sure if i am in the correct forum but can anyone tell me the approximate typical height the hole in the wall should ne for my kitchen extractor fan over the cooker?
We are building the house at the minute and need to bore a hole in the blockwork to allow for duct the extractor fan. The kitchen is a vaulted ceiling therfore i do not want to run the duct up to the ceiling and out through the atticand soffit.

    1.2.1.3 Mechanical extract terminals, passive
stack extract vents and extract fans should be
placed as high as practical and no greater than
400 mm below ceiling level. Cooker hoods
should generally be located 650 mm to 750
mm above the hob surface unless otherwise
    recommended by manufacturers

Depends on the height of your kitchen units. AFAIK, standard kitchen is 2.1m therefore bottom of ope should be 2.1m from floor level so that it can be hidden behind units cornices.
