I've moved into an apartment and there is a connection for UPC (cable) in the sitting room. I don't want to pay subscription for TV. No other connection for TV.

What are my options for setting up some form of free to air? Do you have to set up the dish to get it? As far as i know the property management company has banned dishes on the front of properties.

Free to air with an aerial/terrestrial or satellite. Lots of discussion in the relevant forums. If your Management company have barred satellite dishes, you might be in a spot of bother if you want UK TV. Some management companies have agreed to install communal dishes on the side of complexes. Your best bet is to approach them. If you're a tenant, you'll need to get your Landlord to do this.

Trying to use the UPC connection without paying could be classified as theft.

FTA satellite channels will require a satellite dish, no way around this.
FTA terrestrial channels i.e. Saorview, will require an aerial. An outdoor aerial is recommended but sometime an indoor might work.
