Telegraph pay wall arrives for all

    The Daily Telegraph website which has been behind a partial paywall for overseas readers (20 articles free to view per month) will now be introduced to UK consumers from the start of April. Again 20 pages free per month.

    • The Telegraph web pack offers unlimited access to the paper's online content, plus access to its smartphone apps, for £1.99 per month (or £20 per year).

    • The full digital pack, which also includes access to the Telegraph titles on tablet devices plus loyalty club membership, will cost £9.99 a month (or £99 per year).

    The pricing is certainly attractive for the average browser.

    With the Times/Sunday Times having long since gone down this road one wonders how long until the loss making Guardian and Indy follow.

    Yeah its pricing is pretty good tbf.
    The Times charge £8 a month for the basic web access pack & If you want the Web/Smart phone/Tablet pack its £16 a month.

    This article went up in 2012, but I've tried to* keep on top of the pricing. I’ll have to move it to a home of its own soon and update some of the more pertinent issues surrounding the paywall debate.

    The one thing I find laughable is the arrogance of local media to try and command those subscription charges in comparison to the prices asked for by UK media.

    *tried to: The pricing structures are becoming so varied it’s nearly impossible to keep on to of them. Each throws in something that makes it difficult to compare to other offerings. For example – the premium subscription to FT.Com offers as well 5 years retrospective financial data to all FT100 companies…..
