Their hygiene standards had a lot to be answered for to be honest.

I've also seen them refill half empty ketchup bottles with new ketchup on top. I'm sorry but that was enough to stop me using the ketchup bottles.

Also, waitress' + chef's hair should be tied up, wearing no nail polish or wearing no wrist / hand jewelery (with the exception of wedding ring of course).

I gave up eating in Eddie Rocketts years ago because of this...and filthy glasses...and staff openly grazing food behind the counter.

Every time I've been there my drinks were served from a bottle instead of the fountain (and yes, there is a HUGE difference). While still getting charged the fountain price.

What do you expect people who work in minimum wage to care? Theres alot of places that have shabby hygiene standards so if i were you be careful where you eat that staff are on low wages, in general they dont give a toss and its just a job, I have learnt this first hand myself and seen the ah i wont be eating it attitude! shocking eye opener!

It was on these places I had always planned to go but never got around to it. Hopefully it will reopen as it always looked busy just hope they are making money to justify it reopening. Heard on Beat today that it appears it was accidental.

I hope you mentioned all of this to the manager? How are standards suppose to improve if people dont kick up a fuss you should speak to a manager or even write to the owners! Manager might try to cover their tracks for the staff they have to put up with, again what do you expect for people who are on minimum wage, not to tar all workers on minimum wage working in this industry there are good workers,

Its the management/supervisors duty to enforce that those workers enforce high hygiene standards.

Any word on whether it will be resurrected, or know how the workers are being treated during this?

Bit of old ketchup never hurt anyone

Once you let the little things slide then your open to all sorts, keep to good hygiene practices wash your hands if they get dirty wash them again, provide clean glasses to customers, dont stand behind a counter putting food in your mouth when your suppose to be cooking the food and please try to look like you give a f'ck, these are all the basics that should be upheld.

Keep the standard up and youll keep your sales up! basics of business. people eat with their eyes and if you see something you dont like once, then chances are you wont go back and not only that, youll spread that story to friends and family.

What other corncers do other restraunts cut. Remenber hourse for beef everybody cuts coners so get real about it. Should be a seperate threat into why do fast food outlets put new sauce on top of old.

So now your saying its okay to cut corners when serving public food?

You kinda asked a question and answered it there so i suppose no need to reply there, I wouldnt be a fan of eating out after seeing some of the things ive seen lets put it that way!

The answer is simply DONT! cos then your going down the road of well this isnt that bad, and if they are cutting small corners thats not the only corners they are cutting, why are people in Ireland satisfied with mediocrity? People have no connection with where food comes from or how its made, they just want it to taste nice regardless of whats in it or how it got on the plate!

As I said above its happens accross all areas, not saying its ok but get real about it, everybody would cut corners if they could and save money etc.

Thats why i said before i dont like eating out, if you knew what you were paying for and the manner in which it was made you probably wouldnt be too happy, I have eaten out lately in an Italian and the food was made in front of me and seemed nice enough, the emphasis was on quality, not quantity 2 completely different things in food service.

Gardai in Waterford City are still appealing for witnesses to two fires over the weekend.A rented home, at 1 Briot Drive, Templars Hall was completed gutted during a blaze early on Sunday morning.Eddie Rockets Restraunt on the Cork Road was destroyed by fire in the early hours of Saturday morning. Gardai are also appealing for information after a number of business premises were broken into. The front door of Lidl on the Tramore Road was forced between midnight and 1.20 on Saturday morning. Drink was reported stolen. Around the same time the shutter and office door at the rear of First Steps in Ballybeg was forced and a small amount of cash taken.A money box with a small amount of cash and cheques was taken from Nomac Productions in Tycor between close of business on Friday and 10am on Saturday morning. While just before 2am yesterday morning Tatlers Coffee House in Superquinn was broken into.
