VAT on labour in Northern Ireland

    Hi
    Just wondering if anyone has any nous in this area. If I was looking to get a engineer in Northern Ireland to make me a set of gates, do have to pay the VAT or labour tax?

    Do business' in ireland have to pay vat on labour done in northern ireland?

    If he is vat registered yes.

    If he is not no.

    If you are vat registered no. You self account on reverse charge basis.

    If you are not, as is likely see points 1 and 2
