Gearbox Mount Opel Astra

I was told by my mechanic that my gearbox mount needed changing along with a lot of other things he was too expensive to get them fixed so im looking to get the parts myself, i emailed a auto breaker for the parts he asked me where the gearbox mount was "on the top or where" is what he replied, i have no idea where it is, does anyone here know?

what year is it?? most common one to go in my experience is the middle front one.

If its an Astra G then, as above, the front stabiliser mount is the common one to go.

I wouldn't be looking for one in a breakers though as its a common failure point so finding a good second hand one would be difficult.

If you wanted a cheap-cheap fix,

Ive seen mounts rebuilt with tigerseal, lots of tigerseal.

I havent done it myself, but I did closely watch a friend do it a few years ago on a mivec lancer, held well anyway, almost like a poly bush in stiffness...

Probably not the best option though,

You ever encounter the above ND?

yeah its an astra g 2002, it was the front one got it checked today couldnt get one in a breakers so will get one new cost about 60 euro.

Can anyone tell me is the engine mount the same as the gearbox mount? iv been searching ebay and micks garages all im getting is the engine mount and im not sure if its the same part

I certainly wouldn't be filling any mounts with tiger seal or anything like that, that's just botching repair stuff.

yeah thats the one i oredered it today will have it in the morning got if for 45 euro so not too bad few places wanted 70 to 80 for it.
