Problem with tulips in lawn

Hi,

I very obviously left tulip bulbs in the soil when I had my new (instant) lawn laid last year.

I had used various weed killers on numerous occasions to kill off the weeds in the area. The tulips must live a charmed life - they appear to have survived my best efforts to exterminate them. I had thrown away dozens of the bulbs, but some obviously hid behind lumps of soil. Now they are growing in the new lawn.

Is there a way of killing them off easily? Without digging up a lot of lawn.

The lawn (exclusive of the tulip population) looks very well and is growing well.

Won't regular mowing take care of the problem? If the bulbs don't get energy restocked from this years leaves they'll rot over winter...

Dig them out would be best I would say. You dont have to dig a hole as such. Just use a spade and make straight slits, fold the soil back, take out the bulb, and fold the soil and sod back in place. The seam will heal in no time at all.
