I'm the only person I know that loves the music of Jason Molina, upsetting to hear that he has passed away.

I was very sad to hear of his passing. For such a young talented life to be thrown away or burned out in such a manner is truly a ****ing really sad thing. Apparently been coming for a long time from what I have read. I have various Magnolia Electric Co. and Songs: Ohia records but maybe my favourite thing he did was the collaboration with Will Johnson of Centromatic ... Molina / Johnson... Ill play a few of those records tonight..

I'd never heard this collaboration before, thanks, it's excellent.

It's great eh. They were, due to tour it but Jason started getting very sick soon after it was recorded or released.

I had no idea about this...very sad. I bought quite a bit of his music over the years. Magnolia Electric Co. were quite like Crazy Horse when they played loud.

Very sad, such a prolific musician, most of it very good too. Plagued by alcoholic demons.

yeah was very sad to hear this news. saw them a few years ago at a rather sparsely attended gig in Crawdaddy, seemed like a nice chap. The song that got me into them/him was - The Dark don't hide it - think it was included on an Uncut cd, superb song. There's a great version of it available on daytrotter
