Would love the Colts to get Lattimore with the last pick of the draft! This obviously won't happen as he will be drafted much earlier but it would make for a great story I he came back to full fitness and went on to be a huge success after being mr irrelevant!

Aw I would love to get him, but I feel he deserves better than Mr. irrelevant. I think he'll go in the fifth.

I'd be shocked if he makes a team.

Lattimore? I think he'll get drafted. I'd love for the 49ers to take him, the similarities with Gore are striking.

He's probably not going to play much next year if at all, but he's definitely worth a late round pick I think.

He's rehabbing pretty hard at the moment. Not sure where he'll be at the start of training camp, but he's working out.

Thing is with Lattimore he done in both knees. I can't see him having a long shelf life at all in the NFL. Wouldn't be surprised if he injures at least one of those knees again. I can see him going un-drafted and picked up as a UDFA

I feel bad for him, players not even half as talented then him are going to be millionaires and he'll be lucky to ever play a down.

Star Lotulelei heart checked out fine apperantly and he had his pro-day today. Not bad really, 38 reps, 5.18 40 time, 7.66 3 cone, 4.65 shuttle and 30 vert. Easily my favourite prospect of the draft and hopefully he goes to the Raiders.

Could the Chiefs consider him 1 overall or are they fairly locked into Luke Joeckel?

Well there have been reports of the Chiefs shopping Albert around for a second round pick, so think they will definitely be going OT with the first pick

Jarvis Jones runes a 4.94. Goodbye first round.

Not a chance. Even if he fall's the Steelers would nab him at 18

Strange post. I don't see any way that every NFL team passes on him because of his 40 time. Smart teams will look at his actual on field performances.

A disaster of a pro-day for Jones. He wouldn't drop of out the 1st round but he isn't a top 5 pick anymore.

Locked in Joeckel or Fisher I'm pretty sure.

na chiefs shot them selves in the foot options wise with the release of winston they have to get a tackle now fisher or luke j it is.

star should go top 4 though iv heard he takes plays off sometimes but he looks like a haloti nata and jags, raiders and eagles could all do with him

with regards lattimore i think he drops a few rounds and gets taken by a team happy with there rbs he can be given a year or so to rehab fully and get confidence back in his knees and if he pans out he could be one of the better rbs in the league. I would actually be slightly more confident because it was a defferent knee each time if the same knee blew twice it would be in bits

Don't think it's that far wide of the mark. Jones has worked out very poorly relative to expectations and this will be factored heavily. As had been discussed extensively in this thread, the point of these tests is to demonstrate that you can work hard to do well at a defined arbitrary goal. He hasn't done that.

Remember Terrell Suggs' 40 yard time?

4.84 at 264 pounds is a lot more respectable then 4.94 at 241.

Look at the rest of his workout,

" What else did Jones accomplish? He posted 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench and had a 9'3 broad jump, a mark that would have tied for last among his position at the NFL Combine."

And he's supposed to be an elite pass rusher with outstanding athleticism?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,341 ✭✭✭✭Chucky the tree

The 40 time wasn't the major problem, it was the fact he was terrible in every other drill. 9.3 broad jump, 30.5 vertical, 7.45 3-cone. Very interesting to see where he goes, arguable the best game tape of all the linebackers but those numbers are just a huge negative.

Out of interest who was/is the last great SEC pass rusher in the NFL?

Aldon Smith is probably the best right now. I presume you are talking about OLB/DE types?

Marcell Dareus, though he changed position in the NFL.

Missouri weren't in the SEC during his time there though.

Geno Atkins is probably the big stand out. But apart from that it's been really poor. Looking at former 1st round picks with good number of sacks in the division through the years you have Jarvis Moss, Derrick Harvey, Jamaal Anderson, Carlas Dunlap, Melvin Ingram and Courtney Upsaw. Nick Fairley

In the fourth round which says a lot. Don't always believe the hyper of SEC pass rushers.

I thought last year was their third year for some reason.

Now that teams have covered some of their needs during the start of free agency we have more of an idea of the needs of each team and what positions they may draft. Anyone want to post up their first round mocks? If I get time later or over the weekend I'll post mine.

That's handy tool. Can I ask the thinking behind Arthur Brown at 8?

Everything I have read about him has him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick

Because the Bills need to improve their defense and Brown is a solid Linebacker with good size and quickness. He was Big-12 Defensive player of the year last season

Bills could do with a QB but I think they will use their 41st pick to draft
    EJ Manuel or Matt Barkley
