Look at yáll....with your silly screen names, dunno why people do it, the illusion of privacy and anonymity on the internet has long since past. Maybe in the 90's....but now?

Every program and app has some location service, or GPS or an IP look up. My own story of why I use my real name goes back to '95...but it's sorta boring in present day contexts.

No way would I use my real name here. Instead of thinking should I use my real name here, I'd be more inclined to use a pseudonym on facebook. I haven't done it yet, but every now and then I think it would be good to. I don't want to have potential employers, or any other thing looking me up online, really.

Dude that is you choice but using this name my cousins and neighbors can't connect me to my posts here. The only way they will know if is I post something, they don't have grounds to get the garda to look up my IP to say it's me, so there is a level of privacy and boards won't hand over the info with out the legal request.

Fair enough, I guess it depends on what you "do" on the internet....I don't visit dodgy website or Google "how to build a nuclear bomb" etc. , so i'm rather dull and don't worry about being looked up.

besides if anyone did google me they'd get the general gist that I'm just a douchebag
