Definitely should have been posted in the trivial things thread. is it possible to be moved? i have an amount of hilarious observations about you Irish that i cant wait to share.
Call me presumptious, but somhow, I doubt it.

Sorry but none of these reasons is enough to just leave cars wherever they like. the grass verge is destroyed. the path was blocked and the road was down to just one lane. If i was a traffic warden i would have had a field day.
Nope, you'd just really quickly be the reason cars were parked badly outside the church a few days later. "Ah sure he wasn't all bad, I remember the time he let me off when I had no tax. He did go a bit mad towards the end there though...jasus, what was he thinking, ticketing the cars at Paddys funeral? Sure what did he expect to happen"

What is it about these events that makes people think they have the right to just "park" their cars wherever they choose. Making my way to the shop for for a choc ice tonight and couldnt believe the amount of cars seemingly abandoned blocking the road, footpath, up on the grass verge.
It was a nice evening so why cant they just park properly and take a stroll up to the church giving them time to think about their dearly departeds on the way.
Seems to me that they think no traffic warden or garda would ever do anything to them in their darkest hour.
In their attempts to show respect for the dead they are showing scant regard to those of us still alive.
And what is it with Irish peoples inability to affix a learner plate properly??? The amount of times i have seen them back to front or even UPSIDE DOWN!

You should work for Larry David

I think its one of my favourite things about Ireland that when someone dies everyone even remotely related or casually aquainted turns out to show respect for the dead or support for the family. Its really heartening to see the whole community turn up to say goodbye. Also leads to a good session once the sad bits are done and we turn to celebrating those who have passed. :pac:
If this is all you have to worry about OP then count yourself lucky..

OP the bigger scandal is how much a funeral costs in this country.

OP it could have been worse, think of people who are confined to a wheelchair, or trying to push a baby in a buggy past this.
