GAA Licence

    Anybody know how much the licence is to use county Board crests?
    Is each county different?
    What if you purchased some official GAA merchandise but used it to create another product, Do you still need to have a licence?

    Most county crests would be copyrighted by the local county board, but the old county crests would be free to use, if you want to use a county's crest you should contact the County Board and ask them, I would imagine that most counties would have different costs, some might even work off a percentage of sales agreement.

    BTW, if you want to research the use of crests and when organisations realised that they couldn't copyright existing crests have a look at Munster's jerseys down through the years, the increase in unlicensed merchandise led to the creation of the "Stag" crest.

    i was watching a bit of dragons den the other week and a lady came on from kerry,her husband is actually an ex kerry footballer but i forget which one.anyway she was touting a business selling gaa branded wellies.during the presentation she said shed got the licence for 31 counties off croke park and was in talks with dublin county board for theirs.so i assume contacting croke park would be a starting point

    yes I was aware that the crests are copyright. I was curious to know how much it was to pay to use the crests. Croke park is a good suggestion

    Be doing well to get the Dublin one I would think. They wont just put their crest on anything. Very brand conscious.
