I read online freeloader and that sd gamecube thing should work, I downloaded a iso of the disk earlier so if I end up going down that route I`ll let you know how it goes, I'm on the lookout for one. General consensus was a NTSC gameboy disk won't work on a pal GC

I came up with a cunning plan regarding selling my cels. Remember I had an issue with ebay listing stuff?

Well, I put up an auction for a cel which I wouldn't mind selling for under the max price...then put a link to my cel gallery asking people to have a look and make offers on stuff.

Three emails from people so far :) Just hope the guy who paid almost €500 for one similar to mine sees it!

I offered my services all friendly like, now I'm afraid I'll have to be unfriendly like. Hows abouts someone reports you to eBay? Hows abouts I gets my colleagues in?

Sooo...my Pops is making the switch from Eircom to Vodafone for broadband. Now is this a good or bad thing, since I hear that mobile broadband networks can be laggy for online gaming. But so far, here's my current BB results.

He couldn't have consulted me on this now, could he, since I've been holding out for UPC to come here for quite some time, now.

If it's the same Vodafone package I used to have, I imagine the data allowance will be long be exceeded before latency issues factor in.

The ping is pretty bad, thats important for online gaming. Is it always around 60/70?

Yeah, usually around that. What's Vodafone's around? And judging from Saturn's post, don't expect many updates of downloads with bandwidth caps.

All those DSL resellers just use eircoms equipment, ring them up and ask them to turn interleaving to low on the line, if its possible it`ll reduce your ping by about two thirds

As a former reseller tech monkey: yes absolutely this.

The problem the reseller is probably going have now is convincing Eircom to actually do this for them. Not every bitstream reseller would have the ability to do this without having their own equipment in the exchange.

Would think a freeloader would solve this problem, cant see why not?

Yeah my workhorse GC is chipped anyway, so its not a big concern. Was just wondering if the disc itself might be region free

Just tried the PAL disc in my jap cube for curiosity sake and it's a no go so I presume there all region locked.

Looks like we have a new pope. What Starwars character will this one look like? Yoda maybe?

    Just on a similar note...

Does anyone recall a very short lived (less than ten issues) Playstation-focused magazine? I recall having a few issues at one point. I have a vague recollection of a Final Fantasy VIII issue and cover, so that's the time period you'd be talking about. Don't think it came with a cover disc, would have naturally been unofficial.

Would love an archive of Arcade. It seemed to blend the informative articles of Edge and replaced the boring with Sega Power era zaniness.

As for the new popw, if there's not a photoshop of him and the nazi guy from Raiders of the Lost Ark doing the rounds within the next 2 hours the internet wil have disappointed me.

Maximum was a mag that had a short run but good articles from what I can remember, can't beat the old Mean Machines mags and their mental free gifts, mmm, holograms.

Found out about this guy during the week...

He mods retrohandhelds, mostly putting backlit screens in. His GBA mods lokk gorgeous but are very pricey. If I had a bit of spare cash I would totally go for it, the original GBA is my favorite form factor.

Interesting. Trying to see if he does NGPs. Really annoying to navigate :(

Edit - he does. $65 though.

    There's no shame in that!

I only saw that film for the first time last year. Can't believe I didn't get around to it for so long. It's brilliant.
