NCT Bringing someone elses car

    Hi, Im bringing one of my family member's car to NCT. Do I need to bring my drivers licence or the car owner's licene to NCT?

    Your own and the VLC will be needed too. Oh and the reg as thats possiblly the first thing they will ask for!

    Did the wifes a few weeks ago and that was all they wanted

    Yes your licence. It sounds odd but I think the reasoning behind this was to crack down on fraud where one person/trader would be bringing alot of cars to a specific nct tester. When the person presenting the car is recorded again the test, this kind of thing can be spotted ..... or so the theory goes.

    When you take your car back for a retest do you need your report from the initial test with the faults highlighted on it.

    I brought the car to the mechanics to fix a few bits and brought the original report with me. When I collected the car I forgot to ask for it back but when I went back later he didnt have it.

    No it should be all on their system. I didnt bring my original report with me yesterday when I went back for a retest and it wasnt a problem.

    No, they should be able to re-print it at the test centre.
