Toilet handle - plastic part inside

The plastic part that connects the toilet handle to the siphon (pulls up a hook on the top of it when the handle is put down) has snapped open around where the square rod from the handle connects to it.

Are these universal or am I looking at having to replace the handle as well? Haven't found them for sale separately in the main DIY stores which isn't a good sign but obviously doesn't guarantee they're not. Would prefer not to have to replace the handle just for the hassle of getting it secured.

Won't get to my local plumbing supplies place for a week and its rather annoying having to lift the lid to flush so if anyone knows where to get one (if its even possible to on its own) that's open after 5pm any week night that'd be great.

Yeah, its effectively the same as that. Searched B&Q and Woodies in Naas today, will try the proper sized ones in Lucan/Clondalkin tomorrow.

any half decent builders providers should have one off the shelf, maybe cheaper than those rip off merchants :)

They are nearlt universal. There is 2 different types. One of them has a square and the other is a square but in a diamond position in other words a square on its corner if that makes sense.

They are fairly cheap so dont worry if you get it wrong. Also sometimes they need to be cut as they are too long. Just make sure not to cut them on the handle side
