I subconsciously line things up when I'm just staring into space while thinking about something. Like if I'm staring out the window I might catch myself lining up the bars on the window with a tree outside. I always thought this was the strangest thing ever until I started going out with my OH when I discovered he does it too. Still pretty weird but at least I'm not alone

Does anyone else sometimes write imaginary words that you'll just hear with your finger. Like in a lecture or when someones talking to you.

I would catch myself doing it and wonder why the hell I'm doing it. Pretty creepy!

I do that all the time! Certain words are just more fun to imagine to write than others , and I might keep writing the same word over and over again.. Like that I have no idea why I'm doing it.

If I'm driving around bends I say 'weee!' and if I'm getting onto a main road I start saying 'neooooooouuunnnng!!' as I speed up. Didn't even realise I was doing it til my oh pointed it out!

While sitting in traffic I do sums with the reg is the car in front, trying to calculate the year of the reg using number of the car sold...

I also can't get up if it's like 7.28, it has to be 7.25 or 7.30...
Writing this makes me feel a bit sad!!

Sounds exactly like what I do.
I also eat toast in symmetrical bites, then fold it in half so that the bites match.

I wear my socks inside out.

I also have to keep my body as even as possible, say if I brush my right hand off something, I have to even out by brushing my left hand off something. Not all the time but quite a bit. It's a fecking pain when I'm around other people and I have to do it without being noticed.

i dont know anyone else who does this but iv such a habit of writing my signature, i don t have the same one either. Id fill several pages with my name, weird but i kinda get a kick out of it. Loads of books at home with my name written in them, i get an urggh to do it :S

Obsessive counting.

If I was on a car journey, I would catch myself counting, for example, red cars - or something, and if I couldn't get to an even number I'd get frustrated. Did it with a lot of objects.

I remember just starting this habit one day when I was 8 or 9, and sorted it out in late teens.

Common enough, it turns out.

The volume on my tv has to be an uneven number. And only some are ok. Multiples of 5 aren't ok. I like 1,3,7,9,11,13,17,19,21,23 etc.

Can't wake up at 8.00, has to be 8.01 or 8.11 or one of the numbers listed above.

I used to tense my muscles, from head to toe, left to right, numerous times a day.

I touch wood a lot, try to do it without people noticing. I'd get a thought in my head and have to touch wood.

I see strangers on the street and always think they are normal and they'd think I was odd if they knew about the things I do...this thread makes me happy.

theres a chip on the windscreen of my car. when im in traffic i close one of my eyes and line it up with the exhaust pipe of the car in front like i was aiming a torpedo or something.

When I'm the last one out of the house I lock the door and pull on it 3 or 4 times to make sure it's locked. I then proceed to close the porch and walk away slightly. I then go back and repeat this to make sure that I made sure it was locked. It's the same for the car aswell.

That's mental, if I lived with you and you left the volume on 19 I'd go insane; it has to be at 20 in that situation, it would be an argument waiting to happen.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a tv that shows the volume in numbers? It's just a bar that goes up and down..and reading most of this thread I'm thinking you should all invest in one.
