Cable leaving a hot imprint on Sky Box

Hi just looking for any advice,

Basically the Sky cable which comes through the wall of the house into the sky box, has somehow managed to rest a part of the cable on top of the sky box and basically left an imprint of the wire into the sky box - so the heat of it has managed to leave this imprint.

Is this normal or anything I should do?

    Thanks in advance

Certainly shouldn't be hot so definitely not normal.

As to the cause, could it have been hit by lightening? Seen a case where the inner core of the coax cable from the lnb was burnt after been hit by lightening.

Any pics of the imprint of the cable on the box?

Unless it was the box that was hot and the cable as resting on the box imprinted on the box

I think that would be the most likely cause. Cable should not get hot be itself but the sky box would produce heat

Those boxes do get hot but the box might have poor ventilation too thus increasing the boxes temperature.
