I was a lurker for quite a while, but eventually created an account when Airsoft became legal. The admins were good enough to create forum for Airsofters, and so we used it as the central talking place/news outlet for all things airsoft related.

My first post was actually to give traveling advice to someone, which unfortunately turned out to be of no use.

If you are not sure what your first post was, you can check by clicking 'Show all statistics' in the top right corner of your profile, then choosing 'Find all posts by xxxxx'. And of course, reverse the sort order in the results.

So why did you sign up?

    For the lovely ladies....

And the vibrant football section of the forum, the ability to talk about Soaps, MMA, wrestling and films all in the one place. The excellent moderating (compared to other forums I've been on).

Lurked for years, signed up when I moved out to the country and got a second phone line just for the net (dial up was painful on a shared line).

As an outlet for my intellect. Turns out that pitched right up somwhere at the level of class eejit of AH. I am now seeking an outlet for my superior ability with large hammers and cutlery.

I joined boards after I lurked around for a long time, simply because some posts that caught my attention were either totally crazy or on the same level of thought as myself. It's an excellent outlet for discussing and at times just outright arguing a point that makes it worthwhile. Some posts I disagree with but I have to be PC about, but others...I will join with pleasure, nevertheless, its great to discuss any topic we feel is worth or credible to respond to. Either way, its great to be able to agree or disagree, whatever the topic. Its just fascinating that so many personalities can be in the same room (cyber, I know) and just go for it. Imagine fitting all of the personalities we have on boards, especially AH into a room 10 or 15 years ago before the internet well and truly kicked in (Jesus, I can only imagine the "actual!!" arguing that would go on).

    Oh they hatched then...

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
