when is the earliest you can spray for docks?

    basically I rent 30 acres two miles from me which I get 3 cuts of silage from each year. Now the thing is I dont bring cattle to it as there is no water in these fields so only use it for silage. It has been growing now since October when last cut for silage. It is nice and green as i drew a share of slurry last october to it after cutting. I will need to spray it for docks. I can see the docks coming. The leaves are between 2-3 inches. when can these be sprayed? I dont want to leave it too late as I dont want growth stunted too much in the peak growing season. I was going to go with a half bag of urea tomorrow but am unsure when is the right time for spraying?

    Too early yet, ideally the dock would be the size of a dinner plate but before it puts up a seed head.

    At the very least you'd need active growth, to carry the chemical through the dock's system.

    After a week of mild weather spray away.

    Might I suggest half rate Foundation and Shell D 50, working well here for years. You will prob have to spray again in 3 yrs as with all sprays.

    A really good time to spray is after 1st cut when they re grow to the size of lettuce, this is my experience
