It's a sapphire dual-x but in a big tower with lots of air flowing through. I have a big 200mm side fan blowing directly onto the card which helps I'm sure.

It maxes at about 70c @ 50% fan speed.

You could try something I used to do with my old 4870x2 which was to put a 120-140mm fan onto the back of the card blowing air upwards which improved temps by 5-10c. I might try it myself on this to see if it helps.

Is it normal to become completely obsesive about building a pc with parts etc? :D

For me, that's a definite yes.

I have a spare 120mm fan lying around, can't be bother using it as a secondary fan for minimal gains on my hyper 212+.

    I might use that.

Perfectly normal, it's part of the reason I'm ordering parts for a media server this week.

So, I found out the motherboard I selected doesn't support the G1620, so does anyone know any cheap ITX/mATX motherboards that do support it?

EDIT: Are ASRock any good nowadays? Found this: http://lb.hardwareversand.de/DDR3/70780/ASRock+B75M+R2.0%2C+Sockel+1155%2C+mATX.article

Anyone had any experience with these fans? I'm looking to reduce the noise while trying to keep a decent amount of airflow in my case.

anyone using a projector for movies at home? any suggestions for what to look out for?

why are 1080p projectors so rare/expensive?

Looks good if the actual figures are close to the ones stated. They are sleeve bearing though which are quiet but don't have the longest lifespan, get louder over time, and should only be mounted vertically.

These seem far better and cost less. They have fluid dynamic bearings which run quieter and last way way longer. Slightly lower cfm but also lower noise.

We've two. One on a media PC, the other on the 360. Both SD(and a few years old).

Hitachi are the brand to go for. The lack of 1080 is likely due to far less demand and thus R&D compared to monitors, people were crying for higher resolutions for panels, at 1280x1024 with projectors there wasnt much of a need to go higher. Most are used for presentations in large halls where a better PPI wouldnt improve user experience at all.

Finally got around to contacting Amazon tonight over Portapros that had broken a while back and I hadn't gotten around to replacing.

One hour later, I get an email saying they're sending out a brand new pair at no cost as replacement and don't want the old ones back :)

Yeah, thats amazon customer services for ya. No other online retailer really compares to them!

Anyway guys, I'm just wondering is anybody else having stability issues with the latest (stable) build of chrome? At random intervals, chrome crashes with the window freezing up and a box popping up just saying that chrome has stopped responding and gives me the option to check for errors, or just close the application.

PC seems to be stable otherwise and memtest is reporting no problems so it seems to me like a software issue to me.

Had something like that happen before. Ended up being something to do with the pluggin side of it. Turned out I had different versions of silverlight enabled at the same time which caused some sort of error. Either that or it started working again for no reason.

Now that you do mention it, Silverlight was installed yesterday via windows update. I will uninstall it, Thanks!

Thinking of switching out my AsRock Z77 Pro 3 and my Coolermaster HAF 912 for a an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 and a Corsair Carbide 300R. How much do you think I should put the Pro 3 and the HAF 912 up for on Adverts? Only reason I'm upgradding is for the option of using Xfire and I really dislike the HAF 912.

I'd be thinking maybe 70-75ish for the board and 60-65 ish for the case would be a fair enough price? There are about 95 and 80 new from Irish retailers. (Bit cheaper abroad but it fair enough to factor in the additional cost shipping it here IMO, especialy if your is a meet/collection sale)

That would make your adverts list price about 140-150 and 120-130 respectively :pac:

Haha. Sound for the advice. Adverts is ridiculous in terms of pricing imo. Anyone on here who's looking for something similar just pm me.
