Detailing for a 200-250mm cavity

    Hi all,

Just wondering does anyone have cad drawings showing the detailing around doors, windows, etc for a 200-250mm cavity that they could email onto me? Also, if you have any info on the products to use for cavity closing, etc, would be helpful. I'm looking to get planning permission for a 2 story house built with concrete blocks and my bro in-law (recently graduated) architect is doing the drawings for me but can't find decent detailing.

We want to reduce the cold-bridging as much as possible around these areas. I want to keep some air space in the cavity so was planning 200mm insulation in a 250mm cavity. Also, is it possible to build a house less than A3 rated now? Would it get pulled at the planning stage?

    Thanks.

The moderators have consulted on this matter.

The Request for CAD files was considered in the light of this aspect of our forum charter

    3. (g) While it is acceptable to post plans for comments (subject to the conditions outlined above) it is strictly prohibited to seek or provide a building design or redesign openly in a thread. Written comments on previously posted plans are quite acceptable but posting of alternative plans or plans indicating the redesign of a previously posted plan will not be allowed.

So the forum will not respond to requests for CAD drawings which should in fact be paid for and we the moderators want to make it clear to all that no one should seek them here.
