Or, you know, the real historical event that actually happened.

Well Titanic hit an iceberg, Brittanic hit a mine, but the Olympic had an illustrious career!

She collided with HMS Hawke, and stuck the Nantucket lightship 117 in New York, not an illustrious career in my eyes:eek:

No;)and I can see where this is going. Not to many experienced sea dogs on here obviously

It was an honest question, as I find the whole superstition/bad luck thing genuinely interesting.

I'm most certainly not an experienced sea dog at all, but both my grandfathers were ;)

Forgot about the lightship, but bear in mind the rudimentary equipment/navigation methods used in the 1930's and it occured in heavy fog.

No offence at all,and fair play to your grandfathers, times was different back then, also the superstition;)
And since I am Norwegian,Norwegian sailors have their own superstition, going all the way back to the Viking age.
Although some of the superstition still are very much alive today.

I would totally do this! I have a bit of an obsession with the Titanic (both movie and the disaster itself) so this would be amazing!
