the issue is the dishonesty of people who claim that drastic demographic shifts have been the norm throughout our history.
Ireland's history is awash with different peoples coming and going. What makes us abnormal, as it were, is that we didn't see many black or brown faces until relatively recent.

I don't have the facts and figures to hand and even if I did, you still would find fault with them, so there's not much point, is there?

Most of the immigrants in this stste are, according to the CSO , from the UK.
The single biggest group after that are Poles, a people very similar to ourselves.
