Skunk is not the strongest there. Meadow Hex left me more f**ked in Dampkring than the Skunk that I got in many of the other coffee shops there.

I've found White Widow to be a much nicer strain than Skunk, and will leave you very mellow for a lot longer.

Anyone know anything about this 'weedpass' brought into the south of Holland. Im going to Eindhoven soon and wondering what the story is?

They saw sense and it fell by the wayside.

Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

Amsterdam ditches controversial 'weed pass' law

You'll have to get the train. Utrecht is your nearest city that you can buy, €25 for the train. Enjoy!! :)

    @Mikom, Amsterdam isn't in Southern Holland ;)

Very, they won't entertain you in the coffee shops in Eindhoven, not even to sit in and smoke a joint if you already have weed. You'll be asked to leave as soon as they get the wiff of foreigner off you :D

I could never see the point of smoking really strong weed in a coffee shop. It just mongs you out completely; there's no social aspect to it.
There's different types of high though. There's a mong you out high and a fairly alert high.
New strains are constantly being developed to produce the max output of THC
Yes new strains that are all nearly exactly the same. I defy anyone to go to Amsterdam and be able to name weeds based on smoking a spliff of it. They are all slight variations if any variations on each other. Having a newly named plant out every year is mainly a by product of the cannabis cup.
Seed factories have even mastered seeds that will produce just one crop only.
Seed factories are producing seeds that are fragile and need specific conditions to grow properly. There are no super seeds.
In all the stuff is up to 75% more potent than it was 25 years ago.
Nonsense, it's still mostly backroom grows supplying all this weed. They are relieved to get it out the door before it suddenly dies or gets attacked by something.

I don't care if they ban the stronger weeds, most people aren't going to notice the difference. Once it's grown properly it all gets you really stoned.

You can still buy weed in Eindhoven. It's not the south of the Netherlands that has banned it, it was left up to individual areas to decide.

You must have got very lucky...

From their facebook page 6 Feb 2013

Roughly translated by google because I couldn't be ar$ed
Agreements with coffee shops In Eindhoven may coffee shops from now on adult visitors permit, provided they show with: • A valid Dutch passport or identification card.
    • A valid residence permit (not: a visa for temporary stay of up to 90 days) in combination with a valid identity document.
    • A foreign passport and a demonstrable proof resident of Netherlands, to show for example by means of an extract GBA.

Regulated cannabis cultivation Van Gijzel want so that the coffee shops to comply with the agreements, because otherwise the plans for regulated cannabis cultivation by the municipality undermined.

I did mention in passing that I live in Utrecht during a discussion with the server about a mutual friend. But they didn't ask me for any ID at all, and they were only hitting up younger people for ID.

Carnival maybe disrupted things? :pac: It's not an issue I have to deal with personally (luckily), but I have observed them asking many people to leave. I have been googling this to see if I can get 'solid info' to back up my claims:)

Here's an article from the stonedsociety dated 3 Feb 2013

In the city of Eindhoven, allowing foreigners into coffeeshops remains a taboo; it’s surely not happening at this point

De Bakkerij is a great spot :D

Edit: Just see 'mutal friend' in your post, that might have swung it for you

I'm finding mixed information too when googling about.

De Bakkerij is nice, the coffeeshops here in Utrecht are pretty grim so I couldn't hand on heart recommend them. Andersom in the city centre only sells 4 strains of weed, for example. None of them seem that pleasant to hang around in at all, but I'm an in-and-out person anyway, I'd rather smoke at home. My local shop only sold to take away but it had to close last year due to being caught with more than the allowed amount. Pink in Eindhoven had to close the previous year for the same reason.

Which reminds me, there's cannabis taxi delivery services available. I don't know where you'd get the number for the Eindhoven ones but someone spraypainted the number for one in Utrecht on the wall of the closed shop. :D

Andersom's isn't too bad, I usually sit down stairs and watch the boats go by, Those fcuking lampshades they have though, everytime I bang my head off them when I go to stand up, usually to great amusement to everyone there. I know they're low, I know they're there, yet everytime I stand up - bang

There are huge perceptible differences between the really good strains of weed, e.g. NYC Diesel tastes like grapefruit

Wrong, have you ever grown your own, or are you relying on anecdotal evidence, again?

I'm pretty sure that coffeeshops rely on something a bit better than what a teenager can grow in a closet, they have big commercial grow operations in Holland who take their business, and growing, seriously

Whats the deal with smoking on the street? I dont smoke myself but i was over a while ago with a mate, and he was very, insistant, that we go into a coffee shop to roll up, and to keep it hidden when outside.
I was going to say paranoid, but that wouldnt be fair...

Frowned upon, remember it's not legal!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,800 ✭✭✭Lingua Franca

It's considered pretty impolite. Standing on a corner skinning up and smoking is the social equivalent of swigging vodka from a paper bag. Bringing them ready rolled and smoking while walking down the street, most people won't notice or care, really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,463 ✭✭✭CruelCoin

Perhaps no harm as all these potent strains are seriously genetically modified and cannot be that good for you.

Not sure if serious or just trolling

Yes, that's a huge difference. This one tastes like beer, this one tastes like grapefruit. Whatever will they think of next?

Again? You know what they say about assumptions?

They don't have big commercial grows because it's illegal to grow it at that scale. People are allowed a certain amount of plants for their own personal consumption and that's where they get their weed from. While large grows probably happen they are illegal and will eventually get shut down whereas they can just buy weed off the hundreds of people growing it with next to no risk.

    Gets YOU really stoned
Yes it does, and that's all that matters.

People do smoke it on the street but they don't hang around. Everytime I get there and walk out of Centraal Station there's that whiff in the air.

    oh dear...

After that doozie you went on to thank this post below, I presume you didn't even cop on that he was sarcastically mocking this GM nonsense.

Auto flowering................... like mating a non photo-period ruderalis strain to a sativa/indica, so that the offspring flowers due to its maturity instead of just reacting to the length of daylight.

Female seeds created by stressing a female cannabis plant to the point that it becomes hermaphrodite plant, and then using the pollen from its male flowers on another female.

    Serious genetic modification there folks.

These are techniques used for hundreds of years by nurserymen, on any and all plants.

What's next.......... the dangers of grafting?

Many do it for health reasons, and it can be cheaper "per unit THC". Its not really much different than having strong beer or spirits in pubs. If you know your drinking whiskey or 9% beer or wine then you do not drink your usual 8 pints of it.

It is healthier as you are inhaling less smoke to get the same high. So they are really doing the exact opposite of has been going on with light cigarettes, they have less nicotine & tar but people end up smoking more and/or inhaling deeper & longer so they end up worse for you.

Many will go for super strong hash or oil products for health reasons too.

I have a mate who's quite the botanist when it comes to this stuff, I think he is speaking the truth. Feminised seeds are dearer but you can buy them, and they seem to produce stronger and stronger strains. It's like inhaling an instant panic attack these days, some of the stuff.
What exactly did your "botanist mate speak the truth about", the poster you quoted was specifically referring to this GM claim. Which is nonsense. You can buy feminized hop seeds too, OH NO whats in my beer

It's that they only do 4 strains. If they had a few more or a monthly special or something that would elevate them a bit. I confess to not having sat downstairs, the young guys hanging around inside and out put me off and if I ever have someone with me then it's my partner or my best friend from here and neither of them toke.

My bestie from Ireland is coming to visit next week and he's a stoner too so we'll check it out then (and duck the lamps!)

To be fair, it depends on how much you smoke on a regular basis. I read a book which compared the amount consumed by a stoner in Jamaica and one in europe. The Jamaican smokes enough in a day to last the European two weeks.

That skunk would get me spanged of my ****ing cube. I wouldn't be able to talk, walk or perform most higher level functions. But their regulars would be able to handle it.

I wonder will they limit bars to selling week spirits? Why is weed always the bogeyman when the far more damaging and addictive drug alcohol gets left alone?
