Finding a old flight number?

    I want to claim two refunds from Aer Lingus for horrendous delays I had on two of their flights but no longer have the flight details - only the dates. To be honest after the second delay which was over 7 hours, I just binned everything, boarding card stubs, confirmation emails etc and vowed never to fly with them again. Now I've just found out that I'd be entitled to a refund and would love to get some money back for all the stress and aggravation they caused me.

    These flights are going back a bit - one was February 2009 from Shannon to New York (a nice 8 hour delay there and a change of plane) and one was July 2011 from Shannon to Manchester (a mere 7 hours and a bus to Dublin Airport).

    Can I call Aer Lingus and just ask them for the flight numbers? Would they have details going so far back?

    I don't know if this thread should be in the Consumer Issues, I thought this might be more appropriate but please feel free to move if it's not. Cheers!

    Search your email. For flights that far back you may have issues.

    Without proof of the first flight you're unlikely to be able to get anything at all. EI will definitely have the flight numbers recorded, but you'll need to be able to prove you were on it.

    I'd also take a random guess that the EU regulations don't allow a 4 year compensation window.
